The Man Timothy
His name means honoring God or Honored by God.
1. He was a native of Lystra (Acts 16:1)
2. His father was a Greek and his mother and grandmother were believers who taught him God's word as a child (2nd Timothy 1:4-5, 3:15)
3. His conversion. it seems he was converted during Paul's first missionary journey (Acts 14:6-7, 20-21)
His Character
a) He had a tender heart 2Tim 1:4, 1 Cor 4:17)
b) He had a reserved nature 1 Cor 16:10-11, 1 Tim 4:12, 2Tim 1:6-7)
c) He was a very faithful worker 1Cor 4:17, Phil 2:10-23)
d) Very devoted to God 1 Tim 6:11
e) Had health problem (1 Tim5:1, 5:23)
Had a Sincere faith (2 Timothy 1:5)
His Ministry
